Dear all,

 

My first post! Dolichandrone spathacea (Bignoniaceae)

 

Date/Time :

22-05-2010. 20.30hr

 

Location- Place, altitude and GPS:

Odekar Farm, Thovinakere, Thumkur, Karnataka.

 

Habitat- garden/ urban/wild/type:

Semi natural farm land

  

Plant Habit-tree/shrub/climber/herb: 

Small Tree


 

Height/length:

about 8m

 

 

Leaves-type/shape/size:

leaves with 5-9 acuminate rhomboid leaflets, leaves up to 14cm long. unequal at base (leaflets)

 

 

 

Inflorescence type /size:

 Cymes

 

 

Flowers-size/colour/calyx/bracts:

 

White Nocturnal! (opens in the evening and fall in the early morning hours)

 

Fruits type-shape/size/seeds:

Elongated capsule

  

Fragrance/odour/pollinator/uses and so on: 

Slightly fragrant
