Although, images are not always useful for identification, particularly in the genus, Memecylon and it's difficult to say something conclusive from fruiting specimen alone, I think the plant in the photographs may not be Memecylon. I can't be sure whether the phyllotaxy is alternate in the photographed plant. If it is alternate, then it is not Memecylon (leaves are opposite in Memecylon).

Further, I have never seen a Memecylon species with serrated leaves atleast in India. 

Since, I haven't studied other Melastomataceae members, I can't say definitely if it belongs here. (However, in Melastomataceae, leaves are usually opposite and acrodromous)
