I think it is more likely to be Agave angustifolia Haw. as per images and details herein and as per keys and comparative images at Agave.

Strong and sharp apical spine, clearly visible at the top left of the plate , considerably thick leaf base, crenate (situate) margins in young leaves, I would suggest Agave americana L.

Is this specimen wild?
