Can you please ID this medicinal herb (probably Solanaceae). Photo was taken in a herbal garden in Dec 2012 in Sri Lanka.

Yes it is Acanthus montanus (Nees) T.And., native of Africa and Mediterranean regions and introduced into many Asian countries. It is ornamental and also has several medicinal properties. |

Looks much different from images of Acanthus montanus posted by Muthu ji & identified by Singh ji. Can it be Acanthus spinosus posted by Singh ji (with images) ?
