Many many thanks dear Vijayasankar ji for validating the Tamil name.
The various variants of English transliterated names - sirupeelai or sirupilai are found mentioned in few sites, though
I bounced on one "சிறுபீளையி" in some YouTube post - now I find it difficult to find it !! :)
Thank you very much, I will correct the name சிறுபீளை sirupeelai in my notes shortly.
Regards.
Dinesh

Dear Dinesh ji,

Great compilation! The correct Tamil spelling for sirupeelai or sirupilai (seerupilai is probably misspelled) is சிறுபீளை (without யி at the end). Also, this name is commonly used to refer to Aerva lanata. Since both Aerva and Nothosaerva are often confused with each other due to their similar morphology, the vernacular names are probably used interchangeably by mistake.

Best,
Vijayasankar
