Flora Picture of the year- 2008

[Rahul Natu]

I had seen it 1st time only on the COVERpage of the book "Flowers of Sahyadris" by Shrikant Ingalhallikar.

Since then I was keen to click it in the wild but unable to do so for may be 2-3 years.

In November 2008 during my trek thru Tirangi-ghat ( climbing down from Doni village
on the Ghats down to Rampur village in the Konkan ) among the thick KARVI,
suddenly I saw this one ..infact the only ONE flower on that plant !

Several times, while tracking in SAHYADRIs we don't look around at
tiny creatures and plants. I was fortunate to have seen it in
RAJMACHI, but unfortunate to snap it, because of not having camera
during those days.
