are leaves downy like we see in the NE USA ,,,

OK, thanks....now I am sure this is the great Mullein...
flowers only in the second year after the basal rosette forms...
good antiasthmatic... in american indian ethnobotany...
modern western herbal I think learnt from them and uses tea in bronchitis, cough etc...

I wonder if our ethnobotany of the region has similar uses ... described ?
or some grad student can start a project .. a very useful plant...
