Dear Pankaj,
Thanks for your guess. The flowers do appear to agree well with Calanthe triplicata, however, our plant has very small bracts. On the other hand, Calanthe triplicata is supposed to have 1-2 cm long bracts. In that respect your earlier guess of Calanthe odora looks closer. What do you think?

Pictures are not great and what Tabish sir is talking about bracts is not at all a point of difference. I think this plant is Calanthe triplicata, unless I get a proper dissection of the plant. The structure of the labellum is also unlike that in Calanthe odora.

From Kurzweil (2010): Calanthe odora is very similar to C. triplicata and has been treated within its synonymy (Seidenfaden 1975), but differs clearly in the shorter spur. Furthermore, the inflorescences of C. odora appear from an old wilted shoot, as opposed to C. triplicata where the inflorescence arises from a fresh leafy shoot (Seidenfaden & Pedersen 2002). Also the usually sweetly scented flowers of C. odora are a distinguishing feature from C. triplicata with its normally odourless flowers (Pearce & Cribb 2002: 289). In Thailand C. odora is found in marshy grassland and swampy soil in open forest, while C. triplicata
occurs usually in shaded forest habitats.

Kurzweil talks about length of spur and claims it is 12 mm or shorter in C. odora nut 18 to 48 mm long in C. triplicata. He also presents the chart below. Now judging from the length I am sure your flower has much over 12 mm.
