Plant Common Hindi Name : बारीक चिरायता

Synonym: Centaurium roxburghii, Chironia brachiata, Chironia carinata, Chironia centaurioides, Erythraea centaurioides, Erythraea roxburghii

Plant Category : Herbs

Description : an annual herb, 5-20 cm tall. Oppositely arranged stalkless leaves, 2-3 cm long, are oblong in shape. Flowers occur in dichotomous cymes with a flower in each fork. Flowers are 1-2 cm, star-shaped, pink in color, with 5 spreading petals. Five stamens protrude out of the flower. Capsule 8-10 mm.

Due to confusion and different and conflicting keys between different sources (Flora of Pakistan, Flora of China, efi thread, POWO1, POWO 2, POWO 3), I am keeping all our posts at Centaurium pulchellum (Sw.) Druce and Centaurium pulchellum var. meyeri (Bunge) Omer under Centaurium pulchellum (Sw.) Druce only, till there is more clarity in the matter.
