... Eichhornia crassipes (syn. E. speciosa, Piaropus crassipes), commonly known as the water hyacinth.

 

The genus Eichhornia (Eichornia) for is named for the Prussian statesman, J.A.F. Eichhorn.

I believe Eichornia could be a spelling error.

Yes it has to be the commonly called Water hyacinth or Jalparni which is supposed to make the mess of many rivers.
The flowers look really beautiful.
