Is this Amorphophallus Titanum?
What is the common name?

Date/Time:  22/04/2010, 10.20 am

Location: Found this at the Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka

Can someone confirm the identification and provide some information on natural habitat, native of which country (I read that it is found in the tropics in general, places like Malaysia)

Do we find this plant in India? What are its other characteristics?

Thanks and Regards,

Sharada

Dear Sharada Ji,

As far as my knowledge this plant is Amorphophallus paeoniifolius and not Amorphophallus titanum. Commonly found in Indian in places like Andra Pradesh , Maharastra, Orissa e.tc.

Tanay

Dear Tanay,
Thanks! Yes, now  I realize that it is Amorphophallus paeoniifolius. Is it also known as the corpse flower?

Thanks and Regards,
Sharada
