Malva sylvestris L. from Kashmir, cultivated and often found as an escape in wastelands and roadsides, photographed from Balgarden, Srinagar on June 22, 2010

Common names: 
English: Cheeses, common mallow, High mallow   (Source: Dict Rehm ) – English, Tall mallow
French: Mauve des bois 
Kashmir: Sotsul, Khalazi
Hindi: Gulkhair, Kunzi, Vilaiti gangai, Sonchal
Kan: Sannablundigegida
Mumbai: Khubasi

Cooked as vegetable; good source of corotene; ornamental; flowers, Flores Malvae, used for gorgles and mouth washes.
