Dear Satish ji

Yes this looks very much like Elaeodendron glaucum. I would very much
like to see the open flower of this plant, and possible ripe fruit. I
would very much appreciate this. Where was this photo taken?

With best wishes, Robert

Thanks Robert ji for showing interest in the plant.Elaeodendron glaucum syn Cassine glaucum.
I had read about this plant in local literatures (Flora Maharashtra) It is said to be uncommonly found on hills etc in Maharashtra. It flowers all round the year.
This plant is called as Bhutya in Marathi(The language of Maharashtra). I have been closely observing this plant now after your mail. I doubt whether the inflorescence is showing buds or fruits. If these are buds they should open up. (I saw yesterday .. they were same)
This tree was spotted on Vetal Tekdi Pune and I couldn't locate any other similar plant in its vicinity.

Saw some unripe fruits on this Eleodendron glaucum tree. There are quite a number of trees on Vetal Tekdi Pune. Will wait to observe them becoming ripe.
