Solanum species for ID

This plant was common by roadside in Amboli and even on road from Kolhapur to Amboli (Jul 2008 )
Easily noticeable feature is the lobed leaves with blackish violet prickles.
I think it is Solanum anguivi.

Can it be Solanum pyracanthos (though there is a variation in colour of the spines) as per the link?: http://www.robsplants.com/plants/SolanPyrac.php

I thought it might be Solanum pyracanthum (Madagascar), which I grew for awhile until it turned out be a noxious weed!
