Check with Schoenoplectiella Fazal Ji,

POWO gives distribution of Schoenoplectiella senegalensis in S.India.
Can it be Schoenoplectiella articulata (L.) Lye as per images and details herein?

Schoenoplectiella articulata (L.) Lye or Scripus articulate, common aquatic plant. Can it grow completely submerged? As I have found it growing in deep water bodies. The reeds are hollow to ensure flow of oxygen to roots like most aquatic plants.
