This is just to remind you that there is a sarode concert is being organized by Paolo Pellizzari, Roland Vaxelaire at Place Flagey Studio 1 on the 27th July 2010 at 2030hrs.
Sarode is usually played by men, it is an instrument appeared in the North of India at the XiX century. For this concert it is played by a women, Rajrupa Chowdhury, born in Kolkotta. She started playing at the age of 5 at the Ustad Ameer Khan School of Instrumental Music. She has won several prizes of which the famous ALL India Music Competition in New Delhi. She will be joined in this concert by Pariami Chakraborthy with his Tablâ ( percussion )
The concert will be introduced by Alimur Rahman Khan, connoisseur in Indian Classic Music shared by northern India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The entrance fee is Euro 15. For Students with their student card, entrance is free. The entire revenue of the concert will be donated to a friend and Social Entrepreneur Runa Khan who has developed an incredible NGO which operates hospital boats on the Delta of the Bramaputra.
