In January 2010 Indologist Prof. Winand Callewaert and the historian Prof. Idesbald Goddeeris have published the book Een geschiedenis van India - Ontmoetingen op wereldschaal (A History of India - Encounters on a global level) through Acco, Leuven (328 pp). This book gives an overview of 4,000 years of Indian history, with a focus on the last centuries. A round-table has been organized by the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies on 19th May, 2010. The two authors will talk on the subject “Why Indian History Matters”. The Ambassador Dr Jaimini Bhagwati will deliver the giving closing remarks. The event will be open to the public. Students are specially invited. Details are contained in the attached file.
