Non-Violent Protest In Support of Anti-Corruption Campaign in India
Location: Rathaus, Marienplatz, Munich
Time: Saturday, 27th August 2011, 17:00 Hrs

Social protests on the streets are taking place in India and all over the world currently. The anti-corruption campaign under the leadership of 73-year-old Anna Hazare, a social-activist and follower of Mahatma Gandhi has now reached the streets of Munich, Germany.
Worldwide, Indians along with friends of Indian culture have taken to the streets and are seeing this movement as an opportunity to attract attention towards the corruption in India and around the world. Even in Germany, several demonstrations have been held, such as in the cities of Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich.

Indian expatriates along with students and friends of India are organizing a non-violent protest in front of the Munich City Townhall at Marienplatz. It is the goal of Indians living in Germany, to eliminate the corruption at all levels in India and create awareness and support in Germany about the protest movement in India. At the same time, the organizers hope that German politicians will take up the issue of corruption with their Indian counterparts in the regular bilateral talks between the two countries.

The Munich based non-profit organisation Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Indische Zusammenarbeit e.V. (Association for Indo-German Cooperation) supports this initiative and requests your participation.
