Dear All,


I would like all of you to comment on your expectations from the
budget - something that will help the retail industry to grow and
prosper.
There is a 12.5 % Excise duty on Footwear currently which does not
allow Organisd retail players to compete with Local retailers who
avoid taxes.This has adversly affected the relationship of Organised
retailers with Shoe manufacturers in Agra.
Surprisingly there is no such tax on apparel.
We can together consolidate our views and write to the ministry.
