A message from a person who wants to promote use of English words in Hindi

If the Urdu words are understood by most Hindi speakers, then guess what? They are also Hindi words. Wow, what a concept. That is how language usually works, go ask a linguist.
Anecdote: I was talking to my Hindi tutor in Delhi the other day and he told me to use the English word in conversations and not the Hindi word for some words, such as "appointment" because he said that even the illiterates will understand the English word because they don’t even know it is an English word, and if you use the Hindi word Niyukti, they will not understand you. I found this very interesting because I am always trying to use the Hindi word out of habit, but it seems like it is a waste of energy sometimes.
If I go to India and use the Hindi (Sanskrit) derived word, most people might not understand me, but if I use the English word, most people will understand. Therefore the English words are now also Hindi words as well.
And that is how languages evolve and grow, usually from outside influences, but that is the nature of human language. How can you fight that? You can't.
(Slavery is not only in the blood of Bhaaratiya people, but it has also gone into the bones of the mentally slave Bhaaratiya people. For adopting foreign languages, traditions, culture, systems, Bhaaratiya people are ready to put any argument to destroy their age old languages, culture, traditions, systems. Bhaarat is still a slave nation and many people want and are trying that Bhaarat should become slave again)
Rose Alford sounds like an experienced proselytizer.
The question is who made the word appointment more famous and popular in Hindi as compared to Niyukti? It is the media who started using word appointment in Hindi in place of Niyukti.
Like for conversion of Hindus, western proselytizers are spending lots of money for spreading English in Bhaarat. Similarly for maintaining English in Bhaarat western countries are spending lots of money. Most of the media is owned by Christians and Muslims in Bhaarat. They intentionally put English and Urdu words in Hindi again and again, so that non- Hindi words comes into use and become popular, while proper Hindi words are available. Proper Hindi words are ignored by the anti- Hindu media of Bhaarat.
For destroying Hindi or other languages, these proselytizers can invent any argument.
English has destroyed many languages and cultures in the world, now they are itching for destroying Hindi and other Bhaaratiya languages. Due to their efforts Hindi knowing people has declined to some extent.
A language takes word from other language, when it does not has proper word in its own language. It is said that Hindi language has so many words that if English and Urdu dictionaries are combined together, even then the words in Hindi dictionary are more than the combined dictionaries of Urdu and English. But unfortunately Hindi words are not made popular by media people.
According to Rose Alfred views, if English or Urdu word used in Hindi is understood by Hindi speaking people, then this word becomes part of Hindi. By the same logic dirt deposited on the human bodies is carried by the body all day and night. Then let it stay there for ever as it has become part of the body. But people do take bath to remove dirt. Similarly if there are impurities in food, then impurities are part of food. No body likes to take food unless impurities are removed. In some cases food is thrown away. Similarly Urdu and English words in Hindi are in the form of filth, garbage, dirt or dross in Hindi which must be removed and thrown away from Hindi. Some idiots have no knowledge the basic principles how the languages are developed and made. Languages are made according to some format and principles and some words are also interlinked. For example word for hand is hast and word is Akshar. If these words are combined in Hindi, then it makes word hastakshar which means signature. If you know some words of Hindi, then some other words can be easily understood. Similarly words Door Darshan, Door Sanchar, Door SAndesh are self evident. If you take English or Urdu word in Hindi, then you will have to learn each and every word individually.

Hindi & non Hindi languages were there before the Christians came into Bhaarat, & before the Muslims came into India. But the wave of hated towards Hindi started after the white Christians came in, for they could not break India on basis of religion, so they used language. They could not have won this community over except by butchering them, & that is what they did.
Some people have given the ways and means of destroying any language and English is trying to overpower Hindi. One thing we must understand that it is the people who speak the language are responsible for the decline of any language. For instance, we the HINDI SPEAKING PEOPLE are enamoured to stop the use of English and Urdu words in Hindi or if someone speaks in English! Then force him/her to speak in Hindi. Gulami manasikta ho sakti hai!
Nowadays, we divide ourselves on BOLIYAN and fight for their recognition. That is how Mythili, Avadhi, Brij are fighting for their independence from Hindi [Mythili has succeeded from constitutional point of view]. If we divide ourselves like this, definitely Hindi will be a language of Minorities of Bhaarat - It will be standing WHERE IT IS - SACH MEIN KHADIBOLI HEE BAN KAR RAH

I find that Mr. Alford has argued that insertion of English words in Hindi is by way of evolution. This would have been correct if Hindu Bhaarat would have been really free, having Hindi, (or any other Indian language), as its official language. The rule of evolution applies to free nations, who borrow foreign words according their needs and easy availability. Just as English has adopted words from many languages, including Hindi.
In nations ruled by foreigners, their agents or viceroys, the rulers impose their language on the subject nation. Thus, Persian was imposed on Hindus during the Mohammedan rule, (acting as viceroys of the Caliph). When the British imposed their rule, they imposed English. The present rulers of India are mentally slaves of the English and mortally afraid of Islamists. So, they have not only continued imposition of English, but encouraged its usage. In addition, for the sake of Mohammedans, they are polluting and disfiguring Hindi by insertion of unnecessary Urdu and English words, so that it is rendered invalid from taking over the place of English as the official language of Indian Union, as originally envisaged by the Indian Constitution.
This again proves that Hindus have yet to fight for their Independence and establish a government of their own according to the principles of Raj Dharma.

Dear Ram Gopal ji,
You are right, India never fought for its independence. We just got rid of the British. That does not mean independence. Independence means when we are free to govern ourselves without interference from others.
As far as Hindi is concerned, the way it is written today is worse than what it was around 1947. It seems to me that all Hindi magazines have instructions to use at least 50% Arabic, Farsi or Turkish words -- I use these words and not Urdu as Urdu is not a basic language and does not have its own root words -- in their writing to qualify to be classified as secular.
Use of these words in Hindi was not and is not a natural evolutionary process. It was imposed on Hindus by foreign rulers. Even some the Muslim writers writing during Muslim rule used more words of Indic origin than most Hindi journals today. The same is true of the Hindi movies. There were more Indic origin words around 1947 than one would find today. Use of English words is another story.
Hindi words sound strange not because they are difficult or complicated but just because no one uses them anymore.
A movement should be started to boycott movies and journals that use non-Indic origin words and let people know that these are not Urdu words but Arabic, Farsi and Turkish words. They are symbol of our slavery and it is about time give up slavery and get free.
Most people I have come across love "Urdu" words but when questioned they don't even understand their meaning.

The question is why Hindu intellectuals or intelligentsia is not interested in pure ‘Hindi’? The truth is that they are yet to realize what makes a nation, what is the importance of a national language, what is (political) Independence and what is the difference between a nation and a State in international law? The Muslims in India had realized it in the last quarter of the 19th century and adopted 'Urdu' as their 'Kaumi' (national) language. Hindus realized there importance of Hindi in the beginning of the 20th century. Gandhi supported Hindi up to 1919, but since he joined the 'Khilafat' movement, he switched over the 'Hindustani', a dubious name for Urdu written in Devanagari script.
The small book “Hindu Renaissance - Ways & Means" has dealt with the above questions, written in 2005 Ram Gopal Gupta and Dr. K.V.Paliwal. Its Hindi version, (somewhat more exhaustive), was also brought out in 2007. In it, 14 signs of Hindu India going Islamic at a fast pace has been listed. Of them, 3rd is "Growing hatred for Hindi and love for English and Urdu". Hindu intellectuals need to be told that opposition or even apathy towards Hindi means supporting Islamisation of India. Perhaps, then only they might take some interest in Hindi.

One cannot live with a myth that modern borrowings are acceptable.
Chinese and Japanese do not use a single foreign word, no matter how modern,
technical or scientific that word is. So definitely any borrowings are not
permissible if one has to maintain the purity of their language. I
have read many Hindi books translated from English. Translated in pure
Hindi. I had no problem in comprehending it.
Translation
was grammatically correct. In fact it is our daily life spoken Hindi which
is of sub-standard. Thanks to Hindi (Urdu) Film industry and
TV.
I have travelled worldwide and
have seen people speaking their native language at its purity. One cannot
give excuse of quoting examples of English or other European languages
borrowings. These languages were never rich.
Sanskrit is
very rich language and capable of forming any new words of modern era.
Sanskrit is a language which is beyond time. So too is Hindi being
offshoot of Sanskrit. It can be written and spoken purely from its
Sanskrit root. It can be very well comprehended too. Only people's will is
required to practice at its purity.
Problem is that
we Bhaartiya's have lost our self-esteem. We are simply trying to ape
westerns rather than revive our language. Certainly Government is no
help. Radio programs, Hindi (Urdu) movies, TV, newspapers and magazines
are anti Hindi. Today, Hindi is the only language in the world which is
completely corrupted. Corrupted by our Government and Media.
Most of
the media in Bhaarat is owned by Christians and Muslims who are anti-Hindu and
anti-Hindi.
Time has come for Hindi renaissance and Hindi
devotees have to initiate it. If Israel can revive Hebrew then why we
cannot revive Hindi. First people must throw away wrong notions and
concepts of evolution by putting filth in Hindi language. Perception must
be changed and then Hindi can be enriched and spoken to its high quality and
pure level.
