Purdue College of Science and Physics and Astronomy Outreach is hosting a free make and take Cloud Chamber Workshop.  The cloud chamber works on the principle of visualizing condensation trails of ionizing particles passing through a saturated vapor of alcohol, leting students observe activity from radioactive sources, or simply the background radiation from the environment, or muons from outer space.

Teachers will leave the workshop with four classroom-ready cloud chambers, lesson plans, safety guidelines, and activities that allow their students to explore the nature of radiation around them and from outer space, connected to middle and high school science standards.

The Purdue Cloud Chamber Workshop will include all of the cloud chamber materials and additional resources free of charge, along with a complimentary dinner.

When: February 11th from 6:00- 7:30 PM

Where: Purdue University Indianapolis
