Greetings all!

On Saturday November 1st, at the School of Education at IU-Bloomington, there will be a paid ($150) teacher professional development event.

The topic is "Green teaching for an infodemic: Integrating habits of critical thinking about media into environmental issues." This workshop is traditionally attended by a variety of teachers in different subject areas and focuses on elements of media literacy in the context of your own classrooms.

This workshop will be led by Chris Sperry from Ithaca College and is designed to help train educators from upper elementary through 12th grade to integrate student-centered, question-based, curriculum-driven, media analysis into the teaching of environmental issues (in any subject area). Chris Sperry is an award winning teacher, director of Librarians as Leaders for Media Literacy, and founder of Constructivist Media Decoding. He will lead the in-person and online trainings for this initiative.

All participating teachers will receive initial $150 stipends for the one-day workshop and additional stipends for the online programming as well as classroom supplies and materials, and breakfast and lunch.
