Dear all,
The IMIA Yearbook editorial team gathered on April 17th to manage the content of the 2020 edition of the YB (selection of best papers for each section, as well as the final choice for the cover). When I say "gathered", it was a fact a whole day long Zoom meeting with a fantastic involvement of section editors located in different time zones (from Europe, Germany, to the west coast of the US). It was a great selection meeting!
Another point we had to discuss was to define the 2021 special topic. It is my pleasure to tell you that the final choice for 2021 is:
Managing Pandemics with Health Informatics – Successes and Challenges
I want again to thank you all for the contributions you sent that I shared with all editors and served as the basis of our discussion to determine the 2021 Special Topic. In the following days, I will send you the official invitation for WGs and SIGs to contribute to the 2021 edition.
I have an other good news. The first part of the 2020 Yearbook is online and accessible here: https://www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejournals/issue/eFirst/
You already may find the following papers:- Keynote paper from Ken Goodman- IAHSI paper from Reinhold Haux et al.- Obituaries for Joan Edgecumber and Vassilis Koutkias- Research & Education paper from Lionel Di Marco et al.- History of Medical Informatics paper from Casimir Kulikowski- Contributions from the Primary Health Informatics, Exposome, Participatory Health and Social Media, Telemedicine, and Human Factors working groups- Regional reports
The complete Yearbook including survey papers of all subdomains of Biomedical Informatics and the selection of best papers published in 2019 in these subdomains will be published as usually by the end of August. I will of course keep you informed.
Kind regards.
Brigitte
