Time to revive our Health Informatics email groups

A happy post diwali to all

With rain today, hopefully the Pollution surge around Delhi will abate. The lockdown had shown that Pollution can be abated, but sadly that was temporary. Fortunately  stars were visible again in the evening sky of Delhi after the rain yesterday 

We have had a similar lockdown on discussions in the informatics world - maybe it is time even that got a revival. Just as of yesterday, our old friend Justice Talwant Singh sent a mail asking us to understand what has happened to our discussions and sent me a contact request through the www.iami.org.in website which surprise, surprise - still exists. It was made by Senthil and I find my name there. But cannot login to the same to accept the friend contact for some reason. Do not even know who is administering the site now.

Much is happening in the government and outside, the coming up of NDHM, NHA, TPG, PDP etc

Many activities are going on and we are not getting teh right awareness - Three old stalwarts (Prof Supten, Dr SBB and Dr Oommen) are there at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2020-hitlab-innovators-summit-tickets-95609118447 

 

Informatics group discussions do exist on WhatsApp. I still think Email groups, are a better way to have focussed discussions due to tight threading and linking of subject, 

For now I am sending to multiple groups to understand which group would be best one to focus on where maximum responses and (Free, not paid - only academic interest) membership can be garnered. Do send in your responses and also if you think that some other group can be solo or joint into this effort, should be OK
