the institutional purpose is to build up member knowledge and the institution further builds upon the member's knowledge.

had it been adopted religiously, CERTAINLY, IRDA WOULD HAVE CALIBRATED III SLA as a powerful and knowledgeable institute over any regulations amendment? undoubtedly.

one question niggles my mind-that is probably u had not given a wisp of thought then, over the huge amount allotment towards court expenditures.

being a member of such an institution dreamed by u, no honest slogging and satisfied surveyor needs any wake-up call from any corner to remit the subscription fee. 

 the means of subscription fee itself is access to a resource provision of an institution. WHAT ARE THE RESOURCES OFFERED AS ON, TO MEMBERSHIP HOLDER HAVING PAID THE SUBSCRIPTION FEE ALONG WITH ENTRY LEVEL FEE.

WHATEVER MAY IT BE,  WE ARE FORCED TO WEARA MASK OF SUBSCRIPTION MANDATORY OTHER THAN NECESSARY CLOTHING LIKE PROFESSIONAL 

ACCESSIBILITY OUGH TO BE PROVIDED BY INSTITUTION.

The trailing email of my dear friend Mr. J. K. Sharma, on payment of dues, set me thinking & transported me to the time when we were deliberating on the formation & future of IISLA, in the Committee formed by Ministry of Finance & IRDA (now IRDAI) to set up a self financing & self regulatory organisation for Surveyors of India. 

The issue of Entrance & Annual fees from different levels of members was extremely vexatious & difficult to deal with. The aims of IIISLA, which inter alia began with regulation & compliances issues of the profession and ended at Training, Research, Extention, Library facilities all around India, hostel facilities and so on. These aims are part of the MOA. The basic plan we all agreed to was that IIISLA should have a large corpus fund & annual expenditure should be covered from subcriptions, ads & grants and so on with at least 25% of that to be added to the corpus created out of the Entrance fees. 

The problem was, that the political oriented members were in favour of keeping these low, agruing that it should be affordable by the 'Muffosil Surveyors', in keeping with their voting constituency. On the other hand, we the non-political members wanted it to be high so that there would be no compromise in quanlity in each of the aforesaid objectives. 

A 3 member sub-committee was therefore formed to look into the part & I was one of the members. We examined & researced all aspects & presented them with a detailed financial analysis & a set of options. After due consideration & prolonged yet acrimoniosly debating the matter, the Main Committee agreed on the aforementioned Entrance & Annual fees. These fees fully covered (a) training costs, including board & lodge costs, (b) Free journals & books on the profession, (c) Library facilities, intially at Zonal Level to be slowly extended to Unit Level and so on. 

That was the plan, but what's the reality. The fees paid covered all Training expenses, with members to bear only travel cost to reach the venues. There is no library even at the HO although the fees covered same at Unit levels, nor any free journals or books. No research facilities/Hostels and so on. No wonder, with no such facilities provided, the politicians have funds to embezzle, by opening duplicate accounts & other means. The fees paid by the members had to be propely budgetted & spent for the objectives of IIISLA as enumerated in the MOA. I am of the opinion that all the members of all CCs formed so far are guilty of this malfeasance & deserve the strongest punishment. 

IIISLA has now become a collective of Motor Surveyors & Non-Motor Surveyors have become indifferent to its affairs. I am one of the few Non-Motor Surveyors, who make an intervention or two every year, when I see the matters getting out of hand. So, Dadashree Sharma jee, as senior & concerned member of the fraternity, you should raise your voice to either lower the fees for the common Surveyor or to improve the facilities to be provided to the members. 

Of course, there is also the matter of the rights of the fraternity. I reserve my comments on the subject for a later date.

Respected Members:

A good association should have sound financial standing to start the new projects and maintain its status. Our institution is also a good one but some of us not taking it seriously. Surprisingly, there are only 9100 members in the list of III SLA when the number should be more than 12000. Moreover, there are 996 members who have not paid the subscription since last 3 Years and as per law, they can be removed from the list. 1226 members have not paid the subscription for the current years only 6878 members are in the list of good standing members. This is near half of the total nos. 

Now we would have to elect our new representative and only a few will take part in it. This will not be a fair decision in favour of III SLA. We must keep our selves update in III SLA activity and the subscription should be paid in time. I will request to senior members to pursue the concerned members for the subscription and check their account for an update. 

As large the members will participate in activity better the management will be there. Be awaken for your own interest. Please pay your subscription.
