> 1. Identity of a place is a reflection of the ethos held by the inhabitants. In our case major population is very honest and hospitable in nature. Hence any Master Plan should address these qualities and should be a root map to reinforce and consolidate these qualities to preserve and continue its identity in future.

> 2. Calicut was and is a city of trade and commerce.The rivers, sea and the canals played a very important role in its character. Existing CRZ rules weaken her stand. Hence policy should be devised to re-interpret the CRZ rules into a dynamic one,instead of the existing static rule.
