Greetings and Happy 2026!
Lawrence Public Library is creating a Master Plan to ensure our library continues to serve as a vital community infrastructure for years to come. You know your neighborhood better than anyone, and we need that knowledge as we plan the future of the Library.
In partnership with strategic development consultants
Margaret Sullivan Studio, we're eager to hear from neighborhood leaders about what's working, what's missing, and how the library can better serve different parts of Lawrence. Whether it's programming in your community, mobile library services, or partnerships with neighborhood organizations, your perspective will directly inform our planning.
We’d love to invite you to join us for the Neighborhood Association Focus Group on Wednesday, January 28th, from 5:00PM–7:00PM at the Library Auditorium.
What to Expect: During this 2-hour focus group, we will explore how the Library currently serves neighborhoods across Lawrence. Through facilitated discussion and hands-on activities, we will examine geographic equity, neighborhood identity, opportunities to expand services beyond the main building, and ways to ensure that every part of Lawrence has access to library resources. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow neighborhood leaders and share strategies that have been effective in their communities. The event will be future-forward and participatory, with a workshop designed for your contributions to directly impact the final plan.
Light refreshments provided.
We hope to see you there and look forward to learning from you!
