It looks like a Protobothrops mucrosquamatus to me.. (Brown spotted pit viper). Nice find. Did anyone do scale counts? Just curious...

thank you, vishal for the id. it indeed is the brown spotted pit viper. i had got the same snake 5 years back in the same place - attaching a shot of it. it's stomach is bloated and it was hence very sluggish.
i am afraid in both cases no scale count was done. what do you find out through that process ?
