to Indian CA Chartered Accountants Immigration to Australia
Dear Members,

Update: Now you can get Australian resident visa in 6-8 months.

Steps to do after coming to Australia.

1. Get your Tax File Number(TFN)( like PAN in India.)

2. Open your Bank Account within 15 days.(There is no opening
balance requirement or minimum balance requirements, as there are in
India in HDFC Bank or ICICI bank or I think all other Banks)

3. Get yourself registered with Centrelink( this is a commonwealth
government agency to hadle a lot of important things like employment
and allownaces.)

4. Get our driving licence as your Indian driving licence is valid
for 3 months only and that too if it is more than 3 yrs. old.

5. Start Learning MYOB Accounting software.

6. Start doing your Bridging course probably you need to do your
Australian Taxation Law and Australian Company Law for doing your CA
from ICAA and if you want to pursue CPA than one more subject that
is Accounting theory.

7. Start doing your CA/CPA.

8. As far as work experience and actual job is concerned its going
to be typical process because work enviornment in Australia is much
different than India and you need local experience to get any
accounting job.

9. Probably you need a approach which might be like getting survival
job e.g. call centre or Some sort of store as a computer operator.

10. Secong get your local experience or trasistinal job with some
non profit organisation.

11. and here it is you are empoyable in Australia.

and mind it don't take it so easy that you will be welcomed and
offered a job within week in Accounting. Try to be more realistic.
The Agents of Immigration dont know anything they are just concerend
about their money.
First of all you dont need them to get a visa and second they dont
have first hand experience of requirements from Accountants in
Australia.

In my next letter I'll try to elaborate each step in details.

Regards,
Shashi Bhushan
