Extract Data from .sbu file ( Samsung KIES )

I am new user with Andriod I took backup before formatting and .sbu
size is also 2.5GB but while restoring data it restore everything
except media files..

I tried many times to restore but same result, anyone have any Idea
how to retrieve data from it ??

I found that running Kies Restore does a seemingly complete .sbu file extraction to a temporary directory such as:

C:\Users\{LogonName}\Documents\samsung\Kies\sbu\te mp\{NumberID}\{Files Extracted}

One can copy the files one seeks from there.

Take a look at this thread over at XDA-Developers forum. Someone wrote a Java app to extract the contacts out of the .sbf file into VCard files, which are a lot easier to deal with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983471
