Help me connect USB modem on my Android tablet

I recently purchased Asus Memo Pad Me172V having 4.1.1 version (unrooted). It comes with an OTG cable.

I use Huawei E173 modem (unlocked) to use internet on my laptop. But when I use this modem and connect it to the tablet, I can't access the internet. Help me please.

I can't use internet conection sharing over Wi-Fi on my laptop due to some problem (I'm trying to solve this problem too).
