The best option for you would be to enroll for the Associate ship of
the Indian Institute of Architects which is headquartered at Mumbai.
The Northern India Chapter is located at 8-B, Shankar Market, New Delhi
110003 (Tel: 3311699). The four-year course (four semesters) can be
done through correspondence. There is an exam at the end of semester
two and three. You have to submit a thesis and appear for a viva-voce
test at the end of the fourth semester. The Associate Membership is
considered as equivalent to a B.Arch in India as well as abroad.
Diploma-holders require 1-year of work experience before they can
enroll for the course. The other candidates eligible for this course
are architectural draughts men, interior designers and assistant
architects. While the registration fee is Rs. 400/-, the examination
fee is Rs. 3000/-.
