Dear Prof.Kini,
These chips belong to us. We had requested for bare dies for various tests.
We have yet not received the other chips.
Kindly arrange to send the package to us.
Thanks and Regards

Subject: Urgent attention required - contd.

Dear All,

This is in continuation of my earlier mail.  We have received 30 naked dies and not 20 as mentioned in my earlier mail.

We observed the dies under a microscope and all the 30 dies happen to be IndiaChip Analog 1.  We could see the following details etched on the chip at various locations on the dies:

IndiaChip Analog 1 2010.
ITBHU
SGSIT
DIT
Besu
THAPAR
NFT
Unit filter

Please mail the details of  packages/dies that you have received at the earlist.

Thank you,

With Best Wishes,
Ramesh Kini. M.

Dear all,

This is Ramesh Kini, from NITK Surathkal.

There seems to be some mistake somewhere (from IMEC?).  IMEC has sent us 20 NAKED DIES purporting to be IndiaChip_Digital_2.

The external label on the parcel (FROM IMEC) says (verbatim):

Shipping details
Number of packages   00001
Fabrication of 'IndiaChip_Digital_2' on MPW run 2537 in UMC L180 1P6M MM/RFCMOS() including 10 naked dies.

On opening the parcel we found a single small plastic container containing 20 NAKED DIES.  This plastic container has a label which reads as follows:
Qty: 30 pcs.

There is a confusion here.  External label says "including 10 naked dies", internal package label says 30 pieces.  Actual content is 20 NAKED SAMPLES.

If IMEC has made some mistakes then there is a probability that our packaged chips might have been received by some other SMDP Indiachip participant/s and we might have received their naked dies.

If you are in a testing stage please HOLD ON. Verify the chips/dies received by you are yours. This is to ensure that unknowingly you do not damage other's chips in the process of testing your designs.   WE ARE GOING TO CHECK THE NAKED DIES RECEIVED BY US UNDER MICROSCOPE TO VERIFY WHETHER THEY ARE REALLY OUR DESIGNS.

I request all of you to ensure that there is no such mixup or confusion in the packages received by you.

Thank you.

With Best Wishes,
Ramesh Kini. M.
