Guys I need opinion from you on this, we have around say 350 registration, plus we have valuation class for 2010 batch on the same day (70 folks) & most of them said they have not registered but they are planning to join. Say 20-30 of them may join for lunch who have not registered.

Now we have given 250 as count to MDC for lunch. MDC guy says he can accommodate another 15-20 in the same count.

We told him that if we add say another 20 to this count on that day morning i..e 250 + 15-20 + 20 =290 then he can still manage.

Given all this do you think we are really off the mark given dropouts etc?

I would suggest, we would get the idea at 9:30 AM of the count. Tell him we would communicate the exact numbers at 9:30 AM on sunday

Agreed doubt I have is we can manage for say 20 additions but if we tell him add 50 etc he might say no.

This 9:30 AM message is from Professor Agrawal and this is his suggestion. You can always use Professor Agrawal to communicate this message to MDC. I have already briefed him about this.

Hmm fine so we will stick to the 250 count, problem that I see there is he will buy his inventories one day before & not sure how he will manage it in the morning.

I'd recommend we take 300 count... we need to consider that the count will also need to include volunteers, sponsor guests AND speakers. PARTICIPANTS alone are 250!

I am with Joel for 300.

Especially students participation could be more than expected.

Also we would need to ensure that guests are given priority over students for lunch, in case of any shortfall (worst case scenario).
