Dear Friends,

In the state of West Bengal, this month of October is of special significance as the biggest festival of Bengal viz “Durga Pujas” is just knocking at the door with a few days only remaining before the curtains of the pandals will be raised.

Over the past 10 years Kolkata Rista has made special campaigns during this period to Stop Gender Based Violence and for Gender Equality.

This year will also not be an exception. We shall be opening outlets near many of the distinguished puja pandals from where we shall be distributing and exhibiting leaflets, posters etc to give message and sensitize people to stop gender based violence and fight for gender equality, where it will be clearly mentioned  the law and section from IPC and CRPC. We also have plans to do film screening selected form different countries for Gender Equality and to raise the voice to combat Violence.

Hi santodh it's great to hear about your plans during durga puja.
It is a great innovative idea to Comment an extensive awareness campaign on the issues of violence against women.
I as wandering whether you can also do it as part of the OBR campaign...
I hope you have received the OBR news letter from the national secretariats.
If you are willing to make this also integral to OBR campaign which has a theme of revolution challenging all all systems of domination and discrimination_ we would like to use the  announcement of  plans of kolkata rista for the second news letter which will be sent to all on our mailing list as ever to inspire others.
