I remember day dawned as Sunny & Bright. Of course, the time was to get ready and
go to Dhanauri Wetlands.
As I was half way to Dhanauri, the fog settled and later the Clouds came in.
All the usual Birds were there and had some fun no ‘crackling’ images due
poor light.
Then the Clouds thickened and some drops of Rain fell. time to head back
home. We started the homeward journey but took the route to look for any
Raptors and Lo and Behold, we found sitting a half a mile away what we
initially thought was a Peregrine. Charted the route such that we come
near the Bird with the Sun on our back more so as the light had faded
due to Cloud Cover.
As we inched, as is my wont, slowly and rolling half a tyre at a time
while keeping the Bird in peripheral vision so as not to spook the
Bird.
Then, there were the Best 14 Minutes of My Birding at Dhanauri Wetlands,
Greater Noida, India on January 28, 2015.
We reached the most appropriate point. Click, Click, Click but then greed took over.
As I was about to put on a Tele-Converter, it flew away and we were left Lamenting.
But, the Luck Held. Soon as it had gone, it was back with a Prey - a Live Asian Pied Starling
and perched right in front of us. Click, Click. The Bird saw us and warned - Stay Put or \
I would deal with you the way I am dealing with the Starling. We were quiet and video-graphing
the Best 14 Minutes of Birding.
Perhaps the Best of Dhanauri.
