Bronze-winged Jacana on a Giant Amazon Water Lily. It is said that it's leave can take the weight of a well-balanced adult with their size going upto 3 meter in diameter & its white flower size going upto 12". Picture taken at Botanical Garden, Kolkata recently.
Bronze-winged Jacana : (Metopidius indicus), Wide spread in India, Resident subject to some seasonal movements, fairly common, 28 cm, very long spider like toes I.e. why it abounds in floating vegetation, call : harsh grunts, shrill 'seek-seek-seek', polyandrous, nests of weed-steams etc. on floating vegetation.
