 Rural Electrification Corp. may sell as much as $500 million
of bonds in yen or dollars to exploit lower borrowing costs in those
currencies.

 Steel Authority of India Ltd. signed a joint venture agreement
with RITES Ltd. to set up a rail wagon factory in the eastern state of
West Bengal. The venture plans to spend 850 million rupees ($18
million) on the factory, which can build 1,500 wagons a year.
