Deputy G.M (Operation) - Drilling Business - Central Africa

Major function and Purpose

The D.G.M is accountable for planning and executing all aspects of the            drilling program; the health and safety of all operational personnel, protection of the environment.

 

Qualifications and Experience

·         Engineering degree from a recognized university of equivalent related industry experience.

·         Minimum of 15 years experience in the mineral Industry, with a combination of operational and business assignment.

·         Minimum of 5 years experience in drilling operations with focus in supervisory and management roles.

·         Industry training in areas of drilling/ Production technology, open pit operations, SHE and contracts management.

·         Demonstrated leadership, communication and business skills.

·         Good data management and computer literacy.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·         DGM will achieve the business goals of the company that is the top line & bottom line.

·         DGM will prepare coming year projection which include, targeted business, consumables, requirements of material, manpower, tools & accessories etc.… same every quarterly will be analysed with projected and achieved.

·         DGM will lead the department within the organization and manage Staff towards the desired objectives, standards and outcomes.

·         Prepare site wise, rig wise monthly consumption reports in detail to enable to get proper costing;

·         DGM will ensure the optimal utilization of the company’s resources.

·         To have overall control over your department, you will spend at least 10 days per month on site with the team;

·         DGM will clearly discuss the technical matters to support the Company's exploration program and results with field staffs

·         DGM will anticipate future trends, probabilities and interpret consequences; to be able to execute long-range planning and logistical arrangement.

·         DGM will promote teamwork effectively with clients and within horizontal & vertical structure of the organization.

·         DGM will manage systems for measuring drilling operational performance against targets, and provide high level technical drilling operation skill to determine solutions to technical and other operational difficulties and to keep the drilling programme on track.

·         DGM will develop accurate and reliable exploration interpretations and decisions; to create workable solutions to overcomes difficulties, obstacles and issues arising within areas of responsibility.

·         DGM will implement appropriate methodologies and procedures for operations to achieve the targets.

·         DGM will develop systems and structures to maximize productivity and minimize costs whilst achieving industry level safety targets.

·         DGM will organize, deploy, lead, develop and manage the performance of all employees in the drilling operation function. Ensure that all employees in the function are properly trained for their job responsibilities.

DGM will manage organizational and administrative aspects of the exploration function including:

·         Projects rig wise drill program;

·         Follow maintenance schedule for all rigs and equipment’s with maintenance team.

·         Capital requirements for infrastructure and/or major equipment

·         On-time procurement of required materials and equipment;

·         Oversee operational budgeting and cost management in the exploration function;

·         Prepare site wise, rig wise monthly consumption reports in detail to enable to get proper costing;

·         Prepare and analyse costing of each site and rigs on monthly basis;

·         Analyse site and rig wise consumption reports and discuss with the ground team;

·         Productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness within the function.
