Position Description
· Responsible for management and technical excellence of the metallurgical plant.
· Managing the operations to achieve a high level of metallurgical & operating efficiency.
· Responsible for continuous process improvements and achieve production targets within budgeted.
· Responsible for manpower skill & equipment health development.
MAJOR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (List the major areas covered by your job) Key Responsibility
Cost Effective Operation
· Evaluate current and potential processing methods and develop innovative and cost effective operating methodologies to improve and sustain optimum ore and reagent consumption.
Leadership & Support
· Establish, monitor, and analyze key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team.
· Provide leadership, guidance, support and back-up to all team members to increase efficiency and achieve targets.
· Provide direction to management team in the General Manager’s absence.
· Provide support to finance team in analysis of cost effective operation.
Productivity
· Ensure utilisation of workmen and equipment’s skills & efficiency to delivery targeted production with in budgeted limits.
· Ensure all equipment’s’ preventive and post maintenance practices is being followed as scheduled.
Planning
· Production & budget planning for entire operations.
Engineering
· Ensure plant Metal Balance (Solid, Liquid, Solvent, Water & Acid) is appropriate wrt to Ore feed characterization.
· Ensure plant flow diagram is constructive to achieve highest throughputs of all steam to achieve production targets.
· Support plant maintenance team to monitor and maintain the key equipment health and safety.
EHS
· Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and achievement of tasks in a safe and environmental sustainable manner.
