QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Qualification: ITI / DIPLOMA – Mechanical /Production

Experience:

Minimum 8 years’ experience in Furnace operation preferably Electric Arc furnace experience / Hot metal Industry / shift handling experience

Reports to: Production Manager

Department: Production

Job Purpose: Mechanical Plant and Equipment maintenance, Shutdown and breakdown repairs

Key Accountabilities & Work Outputs:

Shall ensure equipment availability for plant operations

Shall take all steps for preventive maintenance

Shall coordinate with process and electrical team for planning online or offline repairs under stringent safety conditions

Will not expose self or subordinates to any kind of risks during online repairs

Will perform electrical power OFF procedures duly laid before performing maintenance on any electrically operated mechanical equipment

Must follow safe work procedures and maintain detail records of maintenance duration as well as cost incurred for maintenance in liaison with Process team.

Should be able to guide and develop the local team to perform their duties to ISO standards

Must prepare daily report and maintain consumables / tools / tackles and material stock

Key Performance Indicators

Effective activity coordination for startup with cordon area clearance before refinery erection

Reporting to GM during startup and Refinery erection activities

Managing Safety & Environment cleanliness

Timely charge preparation for furnace feed during general shift hours to fulfil 24 hrs operation

Key Strengths Required for the Position:

Manpower management

Knowledge of Charge preparation / Arc furnace operation / basic Mechanical

Knowledge of emergency procedures in hot metal industry

Person specific requirements:

Physically mobile, for access to all production environments

Ability to learn local languages

Able to manage local manpower for effective work output.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Computer operations for report making
