Job purpose: Electrical technicians are responsible for executing both predictive and planned preventive maintenance in a company.
Key accountabilities and work outputs:
· Perform maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of machines installed in plant.
· Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical and instrumentation of equipment applied by industrial motors controls, process feed systems such as pump drives, rolling machines, molding machines and many more
· Reading and interpreting electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagram, and schematics.
· Troubleshoot problems by gathering and analyzing power quality data.
· Repair and maintain diesel generators and carry out work on related control circuit equipment
· Carry out maintenance, repair, and installation of building circuits and similar equipment.
· Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts
· Inspect and supervise work done by local workers.
· Reporting of daily work progress at the end of the day.
Key performance indicators
· Repairing of equipment as per plan.
· Creating and maintain the periodic maintenance plan.
· Performing the predictive and planned preventive maintenance of machine.
· Timely report of job completion.
· Assured quality output
Key strengths required for the position:
· The ability to understand the problem
· Solid knowledge of electrical panel wiring, other control wiring & motor starter wiring must.
· Knowledge of VFD programing and maintenance make advantage.
· Strong knowledge of welding machine & power tool repairing.
· Patient and good communication
· Understanding of safety and equipment procedures
· Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment
Person specific requirement;
· Physically mobile, for access to all production environments
· Willingness and ability to learn local languages
Qualification & Experience:
· 2 years electrical, technical or related degree
· Completion of an electrical apprenticeship
· At least 7 years’ experience as an electrical technician
