Job Description:

Production Managers are responsible for managing staff and workers to produce crops on farms.  They oversee and coordinate the planting, irrigation, spraying, weeding, harvesting and grading of crops.

They are responsible for maintaining farm equipment and buying new equipment such as tractors, and supplies such as seed and fertilizer. 

They plan and direct the production of crops as well as inspect orchards and fields to determine if pest control is required or when the crop is ready for harvest.

Production Managers can specialize in fields of maize crop production.
