On our Windows server, I often use periods, underscores, and hyphens. Most other punctuation isn’t accepted.
Personally, I generally avoid spaces in my file and folder names. This is mostly an issue when a file is uploaded to a website. I find it a good habit to be in.

Subject: [ID] Punctuation in file and folder names
Does anyone whether it’s ok now to use periods, commas, and apostrophes in file and folder names? I’ve always avoided this to be safe because files go from Mac to PC to server and back. Is it ok now to use punctuation characters in file and folder names?
Thanks,
Rebecca
