I have both CS5 and CS5.5 installed, and often need to run InDesign CS5. So I'm constantly getting into situations where InDesign CS5 won't recognize Bridge or Mini-Bridge CS5.1 and Bridge CS5 won't integrate with Photoshop Cs5, and all the other maddening permutations.

I've tried uninstalling Photoshop and Bridge CS5 and manually rebuilding the LaunchServices database, but still no luck.

Why do I have to be playing juggling matches with two identical versions of software? How can I streamline this?

Running OS 10.5.8

The most obvious way would be to use 5.5 only and not use 5 anymore. Are you absolutely sure that's not possible? What's keeping you from doing that? I'm sure you have a good reason to have both running and that it may indeed be necessary, but not knowing the reason I can't be equally sure that there's no way to get around it. I'm a fine one to talk, with CS3, 4 and 5 all on my disk alongside 5.5. But I rarely need the earlier versions and 5 is zipped, I suppose to avoid a problem of my own on this, though I'm not using Bridge or Mini-Bridge.

I frequently need to run CS5, as on major client demands it (as they are not updated), and I also don't like to upgrade projects midstream. I just think there should be a better way.

I imagine that if the products were bought singly, this wouldn't be a problem. I hope I can get an answer. (I had to reinstall Bridge and Photoshop CS5.)
