In InDesign CS5, how would you do to have tables with one or two rounded corners ?

It's not easy!

1. Complete your table in a separate text frame.
2. Shrink the frame to fit the contents. Do not indent the paragraph that contains the table.
3. IMPORTANT: Put text cursor in table and open Table Options > Table Setup. The preset values are 0p4 before and after the table (see screen snap). This might confuse you (it's a factory preset and cannot be changed as a default). Reset both values to zero.

 try script https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1106139/TableCorners.zip
(sorry, beta version only, for all corners)
Select Table (text mode) and run script

4. Create a rectangular frame and give it a stroke.
5. Open Object > Corner Options and change the shape of the corner(s) you want. (Deselect the link icon in the middle so you can change only one or two.)
6. Make this frame the same size as the table frame (from step 2).
7. Position the table over the rectangle, cut, and Paste Into. Adjust as needed to make a good fit.

I've attached a snippet with a round-cornered table made with this method.

Good luck.

I thought well it wouldn't be easy ;-)
Thanks Michael for your method. I'll sure try it.
Unfortunately not valid for the book I'm working on, not easy enough to apply on many tables.

It's always great when you answer, you give most of the time a clear and understandable step by step.
Thank you for this.

Thank you Boris, I'll sure have a look and try to your script !

Michel
