I need as good a version as I can get of a logo. I found one I had that appears to be high-quality in a PDF that's only 16K, so I correctly figured it was vector and yes, I can open and edit it in Illustrator. Only when I resave the PDF, I get the warning "The Document Raster Effects resolution is 72 ppi or less" and I can't find and don't immediately know of any way I might correct this, if it does indeed threaten the output. This is for a cloth shoulder bag, perhaps I should say. Does anyone know how to deal with this warning, or if it's necessary to do so with a job like this?

Oh, never mind maybe, I googled and found the setting can be changed as desired in the Effect menu. So I changed it from 72 to 300 and suppose that's okay - but if anybody has a reason it should perhaps be left at 72 if the thing is going to be enlarged and printed on cloth, I hope they'll let me know. I don't think there *are* any effects, just solid text on a circle and solid gray forms, so it presumably doesn't matter.

Thanks,

Roy

FWIK, if there are no raster effects then you should be fine with
leaving it at 72ppi.

When I start new Illy docs, out of habit, I always boost that option
up to 300ppi and set the transparency preset to "High Resolution"
under "File" >> "Document Setup": "Transparency".

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Micky

Which presumably never hurts either. It does, thanks.
