It’s Always Indy in Philadelphia - Come Party With Us! Posted: 13 Aug 2008 03:29 PM CDT Thanks to everyone who sent in venue ideas for the IndyHall 1 year birthday party. We’re ready. Are you? Here it goes! The Deets! (below the cut)
Time: Sunday, August 31st, 6pm. The IndyHall 1 year birthday party bash is coming together quickly. This event is NOT to be missed. We’re celebrating EVERYONE’s hard work, love and support of this community for the last year. And for those of you who know how much we love to celebrate, you can only imagine how big this throwdown can be. Remember the BlogPhiladelphia party that was at Triumh? Bigger than that. Remember the RipIt/iSepta party at National Mechanics? That’s right. Even bigger than THAT. We’ve got the entire upstairs of Triumph reserved, and there’s no rules against spilling over into the downstairs. In fact, I hope we do. We’ve got pre-recorded and live entertainment. We’ve got special guests. But what’s really important? The food and drinks. That’s where we need your help. Much like the RipIt/iSepta launch party, we’re turning to you for help again. For the launch party, the Philadelphia community stepped up and contributed over $4000 in less than a week, and that gave us a good start on the night. This time, we’ve got 3 weeks, and as such, we’re setting lofty goals. Here are our targets and their accompanying rewards:<$10,000 - a bar tab, available until it’s gone

IndyHall Lectures! Battlefield Game AI: Grids, Guts, and Guns Posted: 13 Aug 2008 03:52 PM CDT
This month we begin the IndyHall Lecture series, and we’re kicking it off with something completely new: a discussion of video game artificial intelligence, specific to battlefield games. That’s right. IndyHall member Chris Jurney, who works for Relic Entertainment, is going to talk to us about some of the underlying AI systems behind one of the games he’s worked on, Company of Heroes. RSVPUpcoming.org saves you a seat in the lecture. Space is limited so please RSVP. Thanks to Chris for kicking off this series with something we’re sure will be interesting to a whole new audience, and hopefully catch the eye of our friends over at Geekadelphia. |

IndyHall Birthday Party ChipIn Update! Posted: 15 Aug 2008 09:50 AM CDT On Tuesday we announced the details for our 1 year birthday party. Much like the RipIt/iSepta launch party, we’re turning to the community with a whole slew of sponsorship levels. We’ve had our first round of contributers, and we wanted to thank them! In chronological order of contributions: Reed Gustow - $100 That puts a nice dent in our goal, but we’ve still got a ways to go! Check out our sponsorship levels, find one that fits for you, and help spread the word!
