[pmarc] Urgent Appeal for contribution to medical treatment for cancer of Dalit activist Gyaneshwar Prasad from Banda (UP)

Dear Friends!
Gyaneshwar Prasad, a Dalit social worker, belongs to the Dalit community and has been working for the rights and issues of Dalit and tribal communities in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh for the last 30 years as a full-time activist.
Gyaneshwar Prasad has successfully connected a large number of children in rural areas of Banda to education by helping Dalit and tribal communities access government schemes, including health and education.
By becoming a part of a big campaign for the last two years, he has also succeeded in curbing the evil practice of child marriage in the Banda and Chitrakoot area and in creating awareness among the weaker sections of the region.
It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Gyaneshwar Prasad developed cancer due to not being able to get timely treatment for a lump near his throat for the last year. With the help of all his efforts and contacts, he has undergone surgery for his cancer and has been undergoing continuous chemotherapy for the last three months.
Doctors believe that he is now 95% recovered and free from cancer.
Unfortunately, now that Gyaneshwar Prasad's treatment is in its final stage and he has to undergo final chemotherapy and tests in Delhi, all his resources and sources have been exhausted, due to which Gyaneshwar Prasad's chemotherapy and tests have been stopped, and there is a danger of cancer developing again.
Friends! Gyaneshwar Prasad's final chemotherapy and test is to be done on 19 July 2025 in Delhi, the estimated cost of which is about fifty thousand.
Unfortunately, as of now, Gyaneshwar Prasad does not have any source for further chemotherapy and medical tests.
Saving the life of a social worker is the collective responsibility of all of us and society.
Therefore, an appeal to all of you is that you must try to do whatever help you can for Gyaneshwar Prasad so that the trust of social workers towards society remains intact.

दलित समुदाय के ज्ञानेश्वर प्रसाद एक दलित सामजिक कार्यकर्त्ता हैं, जो उत्तर प्रदेश के बांदा जिले में दलित व आदिवासी समुदायों के बीच पिछले 30 वर्षों से लगातार एक पूर्णकालिक कार्यकर्ता के रूप में उनके अधिकारों व मुद्दों को लेकर कार्य कर रहें हैं.
स्वास्थ, शिक्षा सहित दलित आदिवासी समुदायों को सरकारी योजनाओं का लाभ दिलाने में मदद करके ज्ञानेश्वर प्रसाद बांदा के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के बड़ी तादाद में बच्चो को शिक्षा से जोडने में सफलता प्राप्त की है.
गत दो वर्षों से एक बड़े अभियान के हिस्सा बन कर उन्होंने बंद और चित्रकूट क्षेत्र में बाल विवाह जैसी कुप्रथा पर लगाम लगाने व क्षेत्र के कमजोर वर्ग के समुदायों को जागरूक करने में भी सफलता प्राप्त की है.
बाहर दुःख के साथ सूचित करना पड़ रहा है कि ज्ञानेश्वर प्रसाद गत एक वर्ष से गले के पास हुई एक गाँठ का समय से इलाज न करा पाने के कराह उन्समे कैंसर कि शुरुवात हो गई थी. अपने सभी प्रयासों व संपर्कों के सहयोग से उनके कैंसर का ऑपरेशन हो चूका है और गत तीन माह से लगातार कीमोथेरेपी चल है.
डॉ कि राय है कि वह अब कैसर कि बिमारी से 95 % तक मुक्त हो चुके हैं.
दुर्भाग्यवश, अब जब ज्ञानेश्वर प्रसाद का इलाज़ अपने अंतिम चरण में है और उनकी दिल्ली में अंतिम कीमो थेरेपी व टेस्ट होने है, अनके सभी संसाधन व स्रोत्र समाप्त हो चुके हैं जिसके कारण से ज्ञानेश्वर प्रसाद की कीमो थेरेपी व जांच रुकी हुई है जिससे कैसर के फिर से पनपने के खतरा बना हुआ है.
साथियों ! ज्ञानेश्वर प्रदास कि अंतिम कीमो थेरेपी व टेस्ट 19 जुलाई 2025 को दिल्ली में होना है जिसमें अनुमानित खर्चा लगभग 50 का आ रहा है.
एक सामजिक कार्यकर्त्ता का जीवन बचाना हम सभी व समाज कि सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी है .
अत: आप सभी से अपील है कि आप सभी से ज्ञानेश्वर प्रसाद के लिये जो भी मदद हो सकी है वह जरुर करने कि कोशिश अवश्य करें जिससे सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं का समाज के प्रति विश्वास कायम रहे.
