A vast industry in Pakistan that relates to entertainment and needs discussion and effort for its revival is Drama Industry. Looking back on the '90s, we realize that the era had produced some high-quality drama serials, covering all the main ingredients required to entertain the viewer. The drama serials during that era found perfectly directed, unique stories and best-written scripts. Due to these key features, the performers acting in the drama serials had to learn more about dialogue delivery with the appropriate facial expressions and body language. A best-written script but not performed rightly, may not leave the expected impact on the viewer. The fact forced the actors to learn professionalism and perform up to the mark.

All these inputs resulted in some great masterpieces in the drama industry. Chand Grehan, Dhuwan, Hawaein, Kashkol, Laag, Marvi, Tipu Sultan are a few examples of drama serials that impressed the viewers deeply.

During the golden time of the drama industry in Pakistan, we see professional story writers like Asghar Nadeem Syed, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, Aashir Azeem, Hameed Kashmiri, Rauf Khalid, Noor ul Huda Shah and many more.

The names of actors and actresses performed in these drama serials include Shafi Muhammad, Qazi Wajid, Talat Hussain, Tahira Wasti, Badar Khalil, Touqeer Nasir, Nayyer Ejaz, Gulab Chandio, Nouman Ejaz, Azra Aftab, Huma Nawab, Aijaz Aslam, Sohail Asghar, Mahnoor Baloch. We can see that even in the current era, the fame of these drama serials and the performers who acted therein kept growing and set perfect examples to follow.

Jumping into the new era between 2005 to 2022, we can see that the drama industry grew a lot commercially, finding some new private channels in Pakistan, ignoring the main ingredients necessary to catch the complete attention of the viewership. The focus of story and scriptwriters diverted only to gaining an advantage commercially, which reduplicated the main themes and stories of drama serials without any moral lesson. As a result, the viewers lacked involvement, and the performers missed the opportunities to learn professionalism like their predecessors. It gives a consistent decline in the industry due to losing its old worth and lacking renowned writers, performers, and interested viewership.

The writers, as a result, shall have to take a lead role in the revival of the drama industry in Pakistan and make an effort to draft versatile stories with unique moral lessons attracting more viewership by moving the performers to act professionally.
